We have all heard ‘Metaverse’ as a buzzword and the various definitions, theories and forecasts around Web3 technologies. Some believe it will change the way we live, work and consume entertainment experiences, while some believe it is all hype that will die out.

Rather than get caught up in the debate, we decided to go ahead and experiment and start building Metaverse experiences for our fans. By seeing how fans engage, what works and what doesn’t, we can be ready for the future and start creating it now.

We started off with a recreation of a behind-the-scenes Star Sports studios, filled with avatars of your favourite presenters, exclusive content, games and even a live chat show!

Since the beta rollout during the IPL 2022 tournament, the 3D world is being expanded and updated to be filled with even more engaging, informative and fun new experiences so check back regularly to discover the future of sports and much more!
